BOARD OF SELECTMEN -- May 13, 2014, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 6:44 PM at the Thomas Prince School. Present were Chairman Stan Moss, Edith Morgan, Neil Sulmasy and Town Administrator John Lebeaux.
Consider and act on Re-organization of Board of Selectmen
On a motion by Stan, seconded by Edie, the Board voted 3-0 to elect Neil as Chairman effective immediately.
Consider and act on request of Fire Department for authorization to implement various fees for Fire Alarms and Fire Sprinklers
Fire Chief John Bennett and Deputy Fire Chief Tim Kelly reviewed Chief Bennett’s memo of May 9 titled “Princeton Fire Department Status Update” which included a request to implement various fees for fire alarms and sprinklers.
The chiefs explained that Princeton currently does not have a fee designated by the Board of Selectman for Fire Alarm Installation or Repairs nor does it have fees set for Sprinkler System installations or repairs.
After the Board posed questions and reviewed comparisons with nearby towns, on a motion by Stan, seconded by Edie, the Board voted 3-0 to implement the following fee schedule effective immediately.
Fire Alarm Permit Fee (Commercial) $25.00
Fire Alarm Permit Fee (Residential) $25.00
Commercial Fire Alarm Repair $25.00
Sprinkler System Repair $25.00
Sprinkler System Installation (up to 10 heads) $50.00
Sprinkler System Installation (10 to 50 heads) $100.00
Sprinkler System Installation (50 heads &up) $200.00
Propane tank installation $50.00
Oil Burner Permit and Inspection $50.00
Smoke and CO Detector Inspection (single family) $50.00
Oil Tank Removal $50.00 Monitored removal at $42.00/Hr
Underground Tank Removal $50.00 Monitored removal at $42.00/Hr
Fire Works $50.00 Extended Site inspection & set up $42.00/Hr
Prepare for, attend and act as necessary at Annual Town Meeting
The Board agreed on the order in which motions would be read at the Annual Town Meeting.
At 6:55 PM on a motion by Edie, seconded by Stan, the Board voted 3-0 to recess, to reconvene when the Moderator convenes the Annual Town Meeting and to adjourn at the conclusion of the Annual Town Meeting.
